2015 Jaguar F-Type R AWD

I know that experience is inauthentic. I know that sounds are produced slightly. I know that the marketing of talk about the "soul" and "passion" of this car is totally dishonest.

I do not care particularly.

The AWD R 2016 Jaguar F-Type is one of those chocolate genetically modified bananas. It's a trick; I understood. I do not care. Perhaps the biggest tour of the Jaguar remind you that your experience in the car is less organic than a Twinkie and you forget completely.

the F-type is easily one of the best-looking sportscars built for two. Next to the Mercedes-AMG GT, Dodge Viper, Audi R8 and Porsche 911, Jaguar is an expensive toy for most people - perhaps a fourth or fifth car It is easy to get carried away on impracticability of the car:. The trunk space is comically small, the input / output are not perfect visibility and outward with the roof in place for someone as tall as me (6 feet 3 inches) is incredibly limited.

I could have you all said before I set foot in the car

on the contrary, my interest in this car was whether AWD somehow detract from the RWD last F-type and if I thought the inclusion of a manual -. I don 't driven - could somehow connect people in a car many people say is too fake. Can a car more natural?

Exterior
Despite the brash approach of the F-Type Convertible for you and your passengers transported in a strong, shouting roadster -. very few outside of the car is polarization

nostrils and the hood folds are visible without dominating the entire front end, and functional cooling ducts in the nose are not too complex is BMW M4. Thank you. The black bar across the remains of the gate of another great nose, and honeycomb black nose Jag does what it should :. Feeding the neutron bomb under the hood without drawing attention to itself

The Digest reader version: the front of the F-type is tasteful, but aggressive without spoiling or more promising that comes out of the back

back enjoys the same, aggressive squinty lamps and raised hips and accentuate the curve. 295mm rearward of the large scale F-Type. A diffuser body color divides the big difference between two sets of two tailpipes, probably to visually fill the space between sitting high in the exhaust gases, but the effect is lost. I almost prefer the Arden approach with a black diffuser accentuated by a thin colored pipe. But I digress.

side, the Jaguar design is hard to beat in the profiles. belt and the nose and upper tail of the F-Type roadster are classic look, while small pleats below the doors provide an already weak land cut. There is almost too much space between the wheel wells and tires thin flank, 3.5-inch, but if the F-Type was any lower it would not be a Jaguar -. It would be a damn snake

the worst of the look of the F-Type Convertible is that the F-Type Coupe exists. It really is.

2015 Jaguar F-Type R AWD Seats

Interior
If red leather seats of our tester with embossed R logo in the headrests do not cry bombastic, the red seat belts. This is not the cup of tea (and probably not mine to $ 2.500 extra dollars) to everyone, but it is quite attractive when paired with the right exterior color.

Our white, black convertible red leather was high contrast and good research in classical terms - it would be hard to imagine red leather watching the same thing with an orange outside, but

2015 Jaguar F-Type R AWD Interior cockpit of the F-type is attractive in its focus on the driver, and now .. the passenger hand grab on the left, near the central display shouts :. ". Keep your hands and arms away" It's a wonderful idea

new Jaguar navigation is slightly easier to use than the last generation, which means it is passable. This is not one of the largest car manufacturer systems - Uconnect, Sync, etc. - It does not shape and polish one of these systems can offer. The 770-watt Meridian audio system is sublime, and it's a damn shame, it must be bolted to a car without top and four tailpipes.

Although the screen is bright, sharp and easy to read, there is not much information on the 8-inch touch screen. Similarly, the rear camera of our F-Type (which seems a bit unnecessary for such a short rear end) did not have the cleanest resolution. In addition, round dials for climate control were attractive, but difficult to understand. For instance, heated seats are controlled by pushing the temperature dial, something you will not find by looking at the dial and noticing a red outline of a chair, about 1/4-inch in height. Meh.

Given all this, I found myself more than what I was looking at, listening to the car more I listened to the radio, and enter the thick leather steering wheel more than the suede upper surfaces of our red leather package offered.

The driver controls and information are clean and neat. beefy three-spoke steering wheel Jaguar is comfortable to grip and the wheel / telescopic tilt allows to find an ideal driving position. A large, bright speedometer that goes up to 210 mph (although the top speed is electronically limited to 186 mph) speedometer and expressive are needles and classic numbers, which correspond to the Jaguar.

The seized pistol lever and dynamic control characteristics are not necessarily classic Jaguar, if we're honest with each other. It takes a good solid 30 minutes with the shifter to discern how to get what speed and when (the park is a button on the top) and how to avoid shifting into neutral when you are looking for the reader. The dynamic control slider feels like a missile switch - which is great - but do not necessarily feel the rest of the car

training
an extraordinary body deserves a special engine, in my opinion. In this case, the supercharged V8 has a lot to live up to. Throbbing, growling, spitting V8 has been compared to many of God related events, and here's mine: The engine sounds like a symphonic arrangement of guns, testosterone, the pleasure of God and gain all contest piss all together

It does not matter that the sneer and runoff is manufactured. I'm not particularly concerned about the active exhaust button that soothes the F-Type when to slink around a neighborhood corner at 5 o'clock, I think everyone should be awake to see this car, no matter how many computers are controlling what sounds and feels so organic

this was one of my biggest issues for the AWD Jaguar F-Type R, which is the only powerplant available for the model top of the line:. Do you need something to swing his ass out to help you forget that it is a series of computers and sophisticated electronics, not a wild animal?

Well, no. Magna AWD system Jaguar primarily operates in the background without too much intrusion to the driver. One hundred percent of the power of the Jag is sent to the rear wheels in normal driving, but if the system detects slip at the rear wheels, up to 50 percent of the power can be pushed forward. For decidedly non-hero drivers like me, which is helpful to bring a rear end shaped around a corner, or mitigate understeer in a car with a 53/47 weight distribution, distribution. In short, with 550 horsepower, you can get back around all you want, but for drivers without their super license like me, the machine is best helping us to accelerate the lap times.

Apart from the movement of Jaguar AWD in the F-Type R, including a manual option in the V6 RWD models is the other big news this year. I have not driven this box, so it would not be prudent to speculate, but I know that the automatic 8-speed with paddle shifters is smooth and supple. When pressed in dynamic mode, the gearbox responds with rapid upshifts and holds gears in corners incredibly well. It may not be surprising as automatic Corvette, but it is better than sliding movement around a corner of the canyon.

Now that I 've buried the lede, the F-type is glorious fun to drive. I do not think it will be the fastest lap compared to its competitors, but it can be the most entertaining.

There is a prevailing feeling that Jaguar did his best to convince you that you are part of an organic experience - your right foot orders all horses all the time, your hands can grind shaped corners, and your eyes can look through and save an oversteer pressure

in reality, none of these things exist. . You can manipulate the amount of saliva the cackle pipes with applications of light gases and maintaining machines, rack electric assistance of the Jaguar is disconnected despite outstretched and ready sense, and computers can operate all the 550 horsepower four-wheel better than I could.

I still know all that and I still do not care.

With the top down and the exhaust fired, the F-Type R AWD always made me feel special every time I drove it. I care about what
