2015 Chevy Silverado 2WD LT Crew Cab

There are just a few months, GM has quietly announced their factory 5 year / 100k mile warranty powerplant would now be downgraded to a power train warranty 60k mile group because their cars are all very well now, and customers do not care about long-term guarantees.

approximately 48 hours was announced, was my wife limping along side of a main road in our Malibu with 0k 2010 miles on, revving of the motor but little transmission to the power which takes place between the engine and the wheels.

I told him to continue to limp directly to the service center at our local Chevrolet dealer. My beautiful wife, brilliant in many ways, bee-lined for the first "service" sign she saw, which happened to be the Ford dealer directly opposite the Chevrolet dealership. After parking the car, she said "bad mark" and tried to put the Malibu reverse - a demand rejected vehicle. It was necessary to arrange for GM to tow embarrassing our still new Malibu search the Ford lot in the street, under our warranty precious 100k for the 6 automatic GM-Daewoo speeds was well and truly turned for the 2nd time in our 0k miles of the property (1 rebuild held in 27k)

2015 Chevy Silverado 2WD LT Crew Cab When the dealer handed me the keys to the loaner -. a Silverado 2015 2WD Crew Cab LT with 850 miles on the odometer - first impressions were not so great. For starters, the massive chrome face on this truck is hideous. This van needs a facelift, or a bag over his head. All other angles, it is well, and even beautiful conservatively.

I got inside (although I'm 6 foot 4) and the things most of the time got better. The steering wheel is made of high quality materials and feels perfectly in my hands, the seats are wide and comfortable and pleasant fabric, storage space everywhere, legible gauges own acres of space both front and rear, and even through three front bench seat option if I fold the broad and versatile console. Yet some drawbacks exist: the lowest bidder-keyfob is outsourced sofa insultingly cheap and thin resonance hollow plastic against plastic, even cheaper, covering the lower steering column while driving. Nobody paid more than $ 15,000 for a car should never have to put up with that. In addition, the graphics on the MyLink interface on startup look like they have been developed by a Chinese manufacturer of iPad knockoff (probably). Bluetooth audio streaming worked perfectly, but the basic sound system (must have been) was muddy and full of too low. The overall impression, however, apart from these little things rather finicky, is the versatility and massive space, and solid construction.

Strangely, the Silverado disconcertingly long bent on cold start-ups - about twice as long as hot starts. This may not indicate a problem, but GM can not afford to give me no reason for quality problems, as the reason driving this beast first. However, once he has launched more, things became quite friendly. Driving this long, powerful, robust vehicle felt like steering a road train. The trip was a typical truck unloaded jitter. However, it was extremely quiet. Steering and brakes were accurate, and the long wheelbase makes for a safe direction monitoring, despite being a loaded truck. The view of the hood was commanding and expansive.

I'm in a trucking mood and put this thing to work ... .hauling massive credenza stepparents, pick up a set of 10 pieces of patio furniture bought on craigslist (all that enters the bed), transportation of ~ 1000 lbs of topsoil for the garden by taking my son his first practice t-ball, then the family at an affordable dinner cheeseburger that night with my wife snuggled beside me on the bench (about 3 minutes until soft she had enough). It was pure 'Merica, and it was pure awesome.

transmission changes were mostly imperceptible time, and not once did the transmission break all the time I had the truck! And as the saying goes, GM sells you an engine and throw the rest free. 5.3-liter V8 power linkage gets 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque horse piss regular 87 octane, ensuring when you stomp pedal this massive load of metal moves with authority unreal. I went several times just to hear the combination of engine roar, and my children "(3 and 5) squealing laughter from the backseat. They loved this truck, and child in me really enjoyed it, too. Reported 0-60 times a little more than 6 seconds seem real, and there not so long ago, it was the territory of the muscle car. It sounds crazy - it's crazy - for such a large vehicle, agricultural to move like that. You see, people, trucks are fun!

2015 Chevy Silverado 2WD LT Crew Cab Thank you (inaudible) cylinder deactivation, Silverado often fell in 4-cylinder mode while cruising. This certainly contributed to the incredible thing above all - a recorded mpg 18.5 across 300+ miles I drove the truck through my daily routine commute tracks / School, Traction / Home Depot runs and only a short drive ride to the airport (~ 30 miles total). I was amazed that this 239.57 inches (20 ft long!) Truck, with this huge interior 355 + hp V8, and drawing capabilities while shooting in this kind of mileage. Have your cake and eat it, that's what it is. Comparatively, the Malibu is less than 25 mpg on the same road - without furniture / hauling dirt, obviously. For a family man and owner of the house, it does not seem worth saving some gas and get a little better handling than a normal car provides. You really love driving in turns to give up having 2x engine, more than 2x the capacity, and a transaction price not everything away from a midsize sedan well equipped once you take the 10k free + $ out of a Silverado your local dealer probably give you (MSRP $ 40k on that I was driving). He is the classic American equation: many Mexican made of metal for money.

So give me a transmission 150k guarantee and put a bag over his head and I'll take one. Or put this engine and the steering wheel in the beautiful new F-150, and I'll take that instead.
